We believe that the Bible is
the Word of God. The Bible is the final authority for faith and practice. We
believe that God's Word is preserved for the English-speaking people in the
King James Bible (AV 1611). We take instruction from the Bible literally,
not allegorically or as fables. We believe that God's Word has the answer to
man's problems and successes in all areas of life.
We believe that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin. He is God. His virgin
birth was not only a sign from God but showed His deity and was necessary
that He would not have man's sin nature.
We believe that Jesus lived a sinless life. He is perfect; the Lamb of God
without blemish.
We believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross as the payment for the sin of
all who will believe. His death was all that was necessary to meet the
obligation of death as a result of our sin. His death on the cross was
payment in full leaving nothing for man to do but to accept His payment as
their own.
We believe that Jesus Christ rose from the dead on the third day as He
promised. His resurrection was bodily. He conquered sin and death and
therefore sin has no dominion over believers. We are free to serve God in
righteousness and to have Christ's righteousness imputed to our account.
We believe that a person is eternally saved by placing their faith in the
finished work of Jesus Christ. Jesus' blood atones for the sin of the
believer. The moment a person is born again he is declared righteous
(justified) by God and has access to the Father through the Son.
We believe that baptism has no saving power; but is commanded by Jesus
Christ for believers only. The purpose of baptism is to identify with Christ
and other believers; i.e. the local church. Baptism is a picture of the
death, burial, and resurrection of our Saviour.
We believe that the Lord's Supper (communion) is symbolic of Christ's broken
body and His shed blood. It is one of the ordinances of the New Testament
church for the purpose of remembering what Christ has done for the believer.
The practice has no saving power and should only be partaken of by
believers.
We
believe that Jesus Christ has commanded all believers to be witnesses
for Him. The Great Commission is given to the local church and
the purpose of the church is to preach the Gospel unto the uttermost
parts of the earth. The true church is missionary in its
practice; preparing those chosen, sending those accepting the call,
and supportive of those who have answered the call.
